Lee Foundation RSIS Scholarship
Eligibility
The Lee Foundation RSIS Scholarships are open to Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Residents and international candidates to pursue a full-time Master of Science programme at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies ( RSIS), Nanyang Technological University.
Value and number
The scholarships shall be awarded out of the income earned from the endowed fund of $2 million donated by Lee Foundation and the matching grant of $2 million from Government. The value of each scholarship is $30,000 and a maximum of 5 scholarships may be awarded per academic year.
Each scholarship shall cover the following:
- A monthly stipend;
- A book allowance (one-time payment only);
- Thesis allowance (one-time payment only at the end of the programme);
- A return air-ticket (economy class) from home country to Singapore (if applicable);
- Tuition and other compulsory fees (as specified by NTU).
Tenure of scholarships and course of study
Each scholarship is tenable for one year only for the full-time Master of Science (Strategic Studies), Master of Science (International Relations), Master of Science (International Political Economy) and Master of Science (Asian Studies) programmes. Successful candidates are expected to complete their studies within the tenable period.
Bonding
There is no employment bond attached to the scholarships.
Selection criteria

Gita Wirjawan Graduate Fellowship
RSIS invites applications for the Gita Wirjawan Graduate Fellowship. The Gita Wirjawan Graduate Fellowship is open to Indonesian students (citizens and PRs) admitted for graduate education at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should have (a) an excellent academic record; (b) a very good command of the English Language; and (c) assessed to have the potential for leadership in government, business, or civil society after graduation.
Terms and Conditions
Each fellowship, at S$30,000, is tenable for one year only for full-time students on the Master of Science (Strategic Studies), Master of Science (International Relations), Master of Science (International Political Economy) and Master of Science (Asian Studies) programmes. ASEAN
Graduate Scholarship
This scholarship is open to nationals of member countries of ASEAN* (except Singapore) to pursue a designated full-time Masters degree by coursework and dissertation at NTU (* ASEAN or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations consists of Brunei Darrussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam)
Each scholarship is tenable for a period of 1 year only for M.Sc. programmes and 4 trimesters (~ 16 months) only for the MBA programme. There is no bond attached to the scholarship. No deferment of scholarship awarded will be allowed. Awards that are not taken up will be given to other qualified candidates.
Terms
and Conditions
Each scholarship is tenable for one year only for full-time MSc and The Nanyang MBA programmes. Successful candidates are expected to complete their studies within the tenable period. There is no bond attached to the scholarships.
Each scholarship shall cover the following:
- Monthly stipend of S$1,350.00
- Book allowance of S$500.00
- Tuition fee, health insurance, examination fee and other approved fees, allowances and expenses
- Cost of one overseas Business Study Mission (for MBA candidates only) undertaken within the tenable period of the scholarship
- Cost of travel from home country to Singapore on award of the scholarship
- Cost of travel from Singapore to home country on successful completion of the Masters degree within the tenable period of the scholarship
Application procedure
Open in November and close in December each year. Invitations for applications will be placed on the University's web page. Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents, and recipients of other scholarships or bursaries are not eligible to apply.

NTU
Alumni Scholarship
NTU
has established the Nanyang Alumni
Fund which is part of
the NTU 21st Century Fund. The objective of
the Fund is to provide scholarships such as
the ‘Alumni Scholarship’ to alumni
and undergraduates who are children or siblings
of the
University’s alumni. Alumni can apply
for the scholarship in
relation to any full-time graduate programme
conducted by the
University. The Alumni Scholarship is administered
by the Alumni
Affairs Office, Nanyang Technological University.
Terms and Conditions
Each scholarship
shall be tenable only for the academic
year in
which it is awarded. The scholarship
may be withdrawn at any
time, if in the opinion of the
Selection Committee, the progress
or behaviour of the scholar has
not been satisfactory. The value
of the award shall be S$3,000 per
annum. Shortlisted candidates
will be interviewed and selected
by the NTU Scholarship
Selection Committee.

NTU (Alumni of NTU refer to graduates

Research Assistantships
A number of Student Research Assistantships
will be made
available in AY2009/10. These are only
for selected full-time
students enrolled in any of the MSc
programmes. Student
Research Assistants assist RSIS Faculty
in a wide range of
activities pertaining to research.
There is no bond attached to
the Student Research Assistantship.
Term
and Conditions
As a Student RA you may
not accept paid employment or hold
concurrently any other scholarship,
fellowships, bursary or top-up
allowance without prior approval of
the Head (Graduate Studies)
of the School. You must ensure that
you do not have any outstanding
obligations in relation to any scholarship,
grant, subsidy or similar
award that you may have been given
previously by any other
organization, such as employment bonds
or undischarged financial
damages, before you accept this offer
from the School.

Terrorism
Analyst Study Awards
A number of Terrorism Analyst Study
Awards will be offered in
AY2009/10. Students enrolled in
any of the MSc programmes
are eligible to apply, subject
to selection by the International
Centre for Political Violence and
Terrorism Research (ICPVTR),
which is part of RSIS. Terrorism
Analysts will conduct research
at the ICPVTR while studying
part-time for their degree over
two Academic Years.
Terms
and Conditions
Successful applications will
be required to do at least 3 electives
modules selected by ICPVTR from
the Certificate in Terrorism
Studies (CTS) track and also write
their dissertation on a
terrorism-related topic. Applicants
not opting to do the
dissertation will be required to
do at least 4 selected elective
modules from the CTS track.

Fee Loan of up to 90%
of the tuition fee
payable by Singapore
citizens. However,
