What is Aerobics?

Aerobics is a key part of healthy living. It can help you lose weight, build strength and endurance, and will improve your overall health.

Aerobics burns fat and slims you down in much shorter time than dieting alone ever could. Aerobic exercise also does nice things for your skin, increasing its glow and elasticity. The sweat you work up opens your pores, making the time after aerobics class the perfect opportunity for an exfoliating scrub or a mask. Your clothes will fit looser and you will move more freely. You'll have more energy, too.

What types of Aerobics are there?

An aerobic exercise is any type of exercise that makes you breathe hard by utilising the large muscle groups in an even pace. There are basically two major kinds of aerobic activities that can either be high or low impact: Step aerobics and Floor aerobics.

Step is literally where a step is used to follow the exercise routine. Most gyms today follow this. Low impact is something where either one foot or both your feet are firmly planted on the floor at all times.

High impact stresses more on the cardiovascular part of an exercise; something like jogging, where both your feet are off the ground sometimes. Students can choose either high or low impact. However, in both type of classes, there are trained teachers to take you through the entire class.
