As we work towards digitising and streamlining our credit-bearing internship processes, please be informed that we have now migrated to our new internship management system for the following internship programmes.

Under the new curriculum, the Engineering Attachment programme has been re-structured to offer more flexibility to students.

The various types of attachment offered to students are as follows:
Attachment Description Period
Professional Attachment ( PA ) (formerly Industrial Orientation)

* Application opens now! 
 

  • This option is for students who want to speed up or catch up with their studies.
  • The 10-week PA will be conducted during the 12-week vacation after semester 2 of year 3.
May – July
Professional Internship ( PI )
(formerly Industrial Attachment)


 

  • This option is the existing 20-week programme conducted in Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Jan – May
Aug – Dec
Enhanced Professional Internship ( EPI )
  • This option is for students who prefer to have a long stint with the industry.
Jan – Aug
International Research Attachment ( IRA )
  • This option is for students who are interested in applied research project in overseas research centres/institutions.
Jan – Aug


Our office will source for placements for the 10-week Professional Attachment (formerly Industrial Orientation) and 20-week Professional Internship (formerly Industrial Attachment).

Placements for Enhanced Professional Internship (EPI) & International Research Attachment (IRA) will be sourced by the students or the Schools.

Introduction

NTU’s Attachment and Internship Management System will be the platform for organisation co-ordinators to administer and co-ordinate the process of providing attachment and internship placements for NTU students. This same platform will also be used by organisation supervisors to access information on attachment and to perform the required tasks during the period attachment.

For Organisation Co-ordinators:
Currently, you are able to:
  • update information on your organisation online,
  • register organisation supervisor who want to offer attachment placements to NTU,
  • forward programmes submitted by your supervisors to NTU,
  • access timely information on assigned students and assigned NTU staff, and
  • access information on past attachments.
In the near future, you will be able to:
  • administer the selection process (for organisations wanting to select students),
  • co-ordinate the submission of assessments by supervisors, and
  • receive system generated message to prompt you to complete task.

For Organisation Supervisors:
Currently, you can:
  • register as an organisation supervisor for the respective attachment programme,
  • submit attachment programmes to your organisation co-ordinator, and
  • access information of assigned NTU students and staff.
In the near future, you will be able to:
  • access resume of applicants,
  • submit assessment of students, and
  • receive system generate message to prompt you to complete required task.
