Call For Papers

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the 5th Air Transport Research Group Conference (ATRG 2001), which will be held at the KAL Hotel, Seoguipo, Cheju Island, Korea on July 19-21, 2001, hosted by Hankuk Aviation University and Inchon International Airport.

The Conference is open to accept all qualified papers on aviation and logistics issues. In addition to research papers, the program may include invited keynote speeches and panel sessions on specific aviation topics.

Topics include but are not limited to:
1.  Transport infrastructure: financial and economic appraisal of air transport infrastructure projects;  airport planning and privatisation in Europe; the economic impact of airports on the national  economy; land side accessibility of airports.

2.  Management, operations, and performance improvement methods for airports and air traffic  control systems.

3.  Structural changes in the airline industry: airline mergers and alliances; airline network  developments; consequences for hub airports;  new entrants and low cost carriers.

4.  Airline marketing: the role of frequent flyer programs, pricing, revenue management, computer  reservation systems, their impact on airline alliances.

5.  Air transport externalities: the economic evaluation of traffic noise and emissions; tradable  pollution rights; pricing of airport congestion; slot allocation and auctioning; airport planning and  environmental issues; safety and security issues.

6.  Air transport forecasting: fleet developments; airline network forecasting; airport forecasting;  intermodal issues of air transport; the complementary and competitive role of high speed trains;  aircraft and airline financing.

7.  Policy and regulation: the deregulation of public transport; EU aviation policy; the future role of  the private and public sector in airports and airlines;  environmental policy in aviation; the future  role of the bilateral regulatory system of traffic rights.

8.  Policies and strategies on global logistics issues such as partnership alliance, third party logistics, logistics hub building, etc.
