Poster Presentation
Poster Sessions
- There are two poster sessions during the conference scheduled during the tea break and the lunch buffet:
- 14 July 2008: 10h15-10h45 and 12h55-14h25 (for MPF; OFN; NNF; ETF)
- 15 July 2008: 10h30-11h00 and 13h10-14h40, and 16 July 2008: 10h10-10h45 (for FPT; CCE; OPF; SND; TCR; BCT; ODF; ONF)
- Posters for Thin Films 2008 will be displayed at Level 4, SMU Admin Block.
- Posters for NanoMan 2008 will be displayed at Level 3, LKC Block, School of Business, SMU.
- During each session, the poster are grouped per symposium as shown on the map (thinfilm).
- The poster presenter is responsible to print his/her own poster and bring it to the conference at one’s own cost. He/she should get the poster ready for presentation before one’s session starts (before 09:45 h on 14 and 15 July) and remove promptly the poster at the end of the session (before 16:00h on 14 July 2008 and before 12:00h on 16 July 2008). He/she should man the poster during the session duration.
- The presenter can put the poster on the poster board reserved for him/her. Ring nylon double-stick tape is provided on site, which can be used to stick the poster onto the board. The conference helpers are available on site to provide any necessary assistance to the poster participant.
Poster Competition
We are pleased to announce that ThinFilms08 will be hosting a poster competition, with three top prizes to be awarded at the conference banquet.
Rules of Poster Competition:
- All registered participants with a poster entry are eligible to participate.
- To enter the competition, poster participant must upload a PDF softcopy of the poster from their Author Page (see format information below) by July 1, 2008 midnight singapore time (GMT+7). The deadline is firm and poster submitted after that day won't be considered.
- A committe comprising the symposium Chairs will select the top 10 posters that will be displayed at the Conference Banquet on July 15th where banquet attendees will be able to vote (Note: finalists have to prepare their poster using A1 format to allow display during the banquet)
- Poster entries with the three highest number of votes obtained will be awarded the top three prizes at the end of the banquet.
- The three winners will receive cash prizes of S$500, S$300 and S$200, respectively.
Poster format
The size of the poster should be A1. The participant should print the poster and bring them to the conference.
Use legible fonts (sans-serif fonts like Arial are more legible on a poster than serif fonts like Times New Roman) of 54pt for the title and 32pt for the text.
You can use the ThinFilms 2008 standard poster format.
