Research in the division has progressed rapidly beyond the conventional thermal and fluid sciences. Staff in the division has moved into new research areas such as microscale fluid and heat transfer, biomems, biomedical engineering and fuel cells. Expertise in the division are also found in areas such as environmental engineering, thermal management of advanced electronic packaging, life cycle analysis of power generation systems, fuel cells, hydrogen production and polymeric membrane technology.
