Division of Systems & Engineering Management

Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a research-intensive university with globally acknowledged strengths in science and engineering. Located in the south-western part of Singapore, NTU is Singapore’s largest on-campus residential campus.

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), NTU has an active and vibrant research environment with excellent R&D infrastructure and opportunities for research funding. Our team of over 140 faculty members is actively engaged in strategic research and development work.

In light of the recent expansion of the school’s Systems and Engineering Management division, we are now seeking to make several faculty appointments to strengthen our team and research capabilities.

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the tenure-track positions as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors in the following domain areas:

  • Systems Engineering
    Particularly but not limited to areas in Systems Architecture and Systems Design.


  • Operations Research
    Particularly but not limited to areas in OR Methodology and OR Applications (Healthcare, Marine/Offshore and Air Logistics).


  • Human Factors Engineering
    Particularly Design of Cognitive Systems.

Applicant Profile

Applicants should have a first degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related field. Some postdoctoral experience is preferred for Assistant Professor positions. For Associate Professor positions, a strong publication record with demonstrated ability to conduct inter-disciplinary research and collaboration with industry is desired. Newly appointed Assistant Professors will be provided with a start-up grant for research.

The successful applicant will be required to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students, conduct funded research, and provide service to the university and the discipline.
