Whilst maintaining a high standard of teaching, the Division has made tremendous progress in research in new and interesting areas as in Bio-robotics, Motion Capture and Processing, Design of Informatics Systems for Bioscience, and methodology of smart products such as deployable structures and micro-machines.

Development of Bio-robotics and cooperative mobile robotics include robotic assisted platform, robotic system to enhance therapeutic gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopic procedures and methods for visualising protein dynamics simulation.
