Course Structure Established Mechanical Engineering Degree Course This flagship four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) in the UK and the Engineering Accreditation Board of Singapore. After you have graduated and gained some years of relevant work experience, you are eligible to register as a Chartered Engineer in the UK and as a Professional Engineer in Singapore. Course Overview

First and Only Aerospace Engineering Degree Course in Singapore! This NEW four-year Aerospace Engineering degree course was developed partly in response to the considerable growth projection in the aerospace sector and partly to satisfy the career aspirations of students. This course is designed to satisfy the strong demands presented by the lucrative aviation industry, which is technology driven, investment intensive and prides itself on highly skilled manpower. In view of its relevance to industry, this course has received the overwhelming support of the Economic Development Board, Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore), SIA Engineering Company, DSO Laboratories, Republic of Singapore Air Force, Rolls Royce International, Pratt & Whitney, Turbine Overhaul Services, Hamiliton Sundstrand and Eurocopter South East Asia, just to name a few. In this course, you will learn how to apply advanced aerospace science and engineering principles in the design, optimisation and implementation of flight vehicles, their controllability and their propulsion systems. There are essentially five basic cluster areas of study which form the special features of the curriculum. Engineering lnnovation and Design (EID) Programme This intensive five-week EID programme presents you with the opportunity to develop your own high technology business venture, which includes producing product prototypes and writing business plans to market your ideas. The culmination of this programme is an exhibition where the prototypes will be judged by a panel of industrialists and venture capitalists. This innovative programme was singled out for honourable mention bv the American Societv of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) under its 2000 Curriculum Innovation Awards. Accelerated Bachelor's Programme (ABP) Look forward to completing your Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree course within three and a half years if you have outstanding academic results! This can be achieved by planning to take on more subjects per semester so as to complete your coursework and other requirements within seven semesters. |

More than the Academic Curriculum.. Leadership Development Programme (LDP) LDP is a special programme exclusive to the School of MAE. Its purpose is to enable outstanding students to further develop their teamwork, creative thinking and interpersonal skills. Expect opportunities to go on overseas exchange programmes, attend enrichment seminars, forums and workshops on topics such as personal development and political awareness. As a MAE student, you will automatically become a member of the MAE Club. The MAE Club serves the student population and helps foster strong relationships between students and staff. The highlight of the many exciting activities organised by the Club is the MAE Week which hosts interesting events such as the MAE Idol Competition and Cultural Feast. |
