How do I save my data or file?
You may temporarily download to D drive or save to My Documents folder during each session. Any file saved to My Documents folder or D drive is only good for that session.
Note: Once logged off, the computer is reset and your files are erased.
Note: There are three types of PCs in NTU Libraries (Lee Wee Nam Library, Library 2 and Media Resource Library):
Compaq Pentium 4 (black casing):
Lee Wee Nam Library has 18 PCs (6 at level 2 and 12 at level 3).
Library 2 has 14 PCs (at entrance level).
Media Resource Library has 33 PCs, available for use during office hours only.
Types:
- Acer Veriton 7700GX (black casing): Lee Wee Nam Library has 292 PCs (228 at level 2 and 64 at level 4) Library 2 has 62 PCs (at level B3)
- HP d325 (black casing): Lee Wee Nam Library has 100 PCs (at level 4). Library 2 has 40 PCs (at level B3). Save to your floppy disk (A drive) or your CD (E drive).
You may also temporarily download to D drive or save to My Documents folder during each session. Any file saved to My Documents folder or D drive is only good for that session.
Note: Once logged off, the computer is reset and your files are erased.
I do not have a floppy disk or CD. Can I still save my file?
Yes, you may save to your personal web folder on the network. It appears in the Z drive as name on 'web\home'. Users will be automatically mapped once they log onto Library PCs. Please look at Connection to Web Folder for more details.
Note: Once logged off, the computer is reset and your files are erased.
How to access folders on my campus networked PC?
Double click My Computer, select Tools and Map Network Drive to your networked PC. Use the default drive name. Do not map to H or Z. For example, you want to access your ABC folder on PC name 123. Map a drive to \\123\ABC. Enter your password when prompted.
You MUST NOT attempt to connect to PCs which you have no authorized access. Please look at “How can I manually connect to the home drive?” for more information.
