NTU Library's Small Assest Management V2

The SAP system managed by Office of Finance does not track the small assets (value >$500 and < $2000) owned by the Departments (Schools inclusive). This tracking is decentralized to the respective Departments to be managed. Due to a lack of central control, disparate methods of tracking range from the hardcopy forms to customized programs written by individual Departments to meet the needs resulted in islands of information scattered between different methods of managing the information and also presented a maintenance issue when the Departments are faced with changing needs and growing user base. Through SAMS2, an initiative undertaken by CITS with the Schools, a more consistent method of tracking small assets is achieved.

Library has decided to adopt the SAMS2 system to manage the small assets. This procedure report will illustrate and explain the process that Library will take to manage the system.
