Anthony
Jameson : Anthony Jameson's profound
influence on the field is at the center of many of CFD developments (including
(1) the simple but elegant and powerful Jameson's scheme; (2) Multigrid
for hyperbolic equations; (3) FV unstructured grid methods; (4) Floxx Codes
ect). ....They represent triumphs of the human mind. Fitting for the
western world, it is the individual, and not the large organization, that
brings forth such achievments. In looking back at several decades of work,
we may be tempted to borrow a quote from Churchill
: "Never in the history of CFD have so few (in this case one)
done so much with so little."

Brian
E. Launder : Father
of most popular turbulence models. On some of his older models that
are still producing surprisingly good results in some of the most unbelivably
complex cases, he jokingly said: " it's like a chain-smoking centenarian
proudly puffing off the celebration of his one-hundredth birthday party."
Quote of the day: "as Sir Cyril Hinshelwood has observed
... fluid dynamicists were divided into hydraulic engineers who observed
things that could not be explained, and mathematicians who explained things
that could not be observed."
