Current research interests include:

  1. Nanoscience and nanotechnology, especially nanostructured surface pattern formation in semiconductor materials through self-assembly under focused ion beam (FIB) or femtosecond laser beam
  2. Processing and properties of titanium alloys, ultralight magnesium alloys, and ultrahigh strength armour steels
  3. Reliability of electronic packaging using lead-free solders (mechanisms of intermetallics and tin whisker formation, electromigration)
