| I obtained my B.S. degree
from the Department of Thermal Engineering of
Tsinghua University (Beijing). Then I headed my postgraduate
studies in University of Science
and Technology of China (Hefei) and received my M.S. degree
in Thermophysics under the supervision of Professor Xinshi Ge. Before
I pursued my Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University
of Alberta (Edmonton), I had worked in Shanghai Institute of
Electric Power for six years. During my five-year Ph.D. program
supervised by Dr. Dongqing
Li (now with University of Toronto) and Dr. Jacob
H. Masliyah, I also had been with Syncrude
Canada Ltd. - Edmonton Research Centre under the NSERC-Oil Sands
Industry Chair Program for three years. In 1999, I joined the Nanyang
Technological University as an Assistant Professor.
I am the author and coauthor of more than 100 publications in referred
international journals and conference proceedings. I also have been
a peer reviewer for many international journals including Analytica
Chimica Acta, Chemical Engineering Science, Electrophoresis, Environmental
Science and Technology, Experiments in Fluids, Industrial and Engineering
Chemistry Research, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer,
International Journal of Heat and Fluid
Flow, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Journal of
Physical Chemistry, Journal of Fluid
Mechanics, Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering,
Journal of Physics D, Langmuir, Microfluidics
and Nanofluidics, Numerical Heat Transfer and Optics and
Lasers. In addition, I have served as the member of the scientific
committee in several international conferences.
