| Invited presentations | Workshop
on Compact Modeling is initiated as an open forum for model
developers as well as interaction with the technology/design communities.
It has been mainly in the form of invited presentations for the specific
topics in the compact-modeling area. Since 2008, the format has been
changed mainly with contributed oral presentations. The eighth Workshop
on Compact Modeling (WCM2010)
will be held in association with the Microtech2010
in Anaheim, California, USA on June 22-23, 2010. The topics
cover all important aspects of compact modeling for circuit simulation,
and invitations are extended to experts in the related topic areas.

Contributed
papers in the scope of "compact models for circuit simulation" are
solicited. All contributed papers will go through Microtech/WCM review.
WCM is organized as a special session within the
Microtech2010.
For WCM-related enquiries, please
contact Dr. Xing Zhou (exzhou@ntu.edu.sg).
For general Nanotech/Microtech-related enquiries, please contact Ms.
Sarah Wenning (wenning@nsti.org).

"Compact modeling
including more physical models and statistics" has been added in the 2002
update of the 2001 edition of the International Technology Roadmap for
Semiconductors (ITRS), which
also "changes the Grand Challenges for the ITRS." "Prediction of
dispersion of circuit parameters" beyond 45 nm non-classical CMOS devices
has been a major challenge outlined in the 2005 ITRS.
WCM2010, being the nineth one, will prove to be interesting and useful for people in a broad spectrum of fields: compact model developers, process engineers, device physicists, and circuit designers, in a variety of disciplines: universities, research institutions, chip manufacturers, wafer fabs, fabless companies, consulting firms, parameter-extraction tool and circuit-simulator vendors. All are invited to participate in
this exciting event!
