1994 - current Technical committee member of PSB 118/2/A on Concrete and Cement

Along with representatives from SCI, PSB, BCA, HDB, PSB, SCAL, JTC, ACES, RMCAS, PWD, SIA, IES, NUS, CMAS and chaired by Dr Tan Chat Tim, I was involved in the committee preparation of the following standards:
SS289 : Part 1 : 2000 Concrete : Guide to specifying concrete
SS289 : Part 2 : 2000 Concrete : Method for specifying concrete mixes
SS289 : Part 3 : 2000 Specification for the procedures to be used in producing and transporting concrete
SS289 : Part 4 : 2000 Specification for the procedures to be used in sampling, testing and assessing compliance of concrete
SS397 : Part 1 : 1997 Methods of testing cement : Determination of strength
SS 476 : 2000 High slag blastfurnace cement
SS 477 : 2000 Portland blastfurnace cement
SS 26 Ordinary Portland Cement


1999 - current Technical committee member of prescriptive-based fire code (FSB)

The Fire Code Review Technical Committee comprise members from SIA, IES, ACES, REDAS, SISV, NTU, NUS, BCA, LTA, PSA, JTC, HDB, IFE. Mr. Boo Geok Kwang, Director of FSB, chairs the committee. It is a review of code of practice for fire precautions in buildings (1997).


1999 - current Technical committee member of performance based fire code (FSB)

The mandate of this committee is to develop workable performance-based fire code to allow greater flexibility and design efficiency without compromising on safety of building occupants. This will be among the first such code in Asia.
