My research focuses on understanding how organizations can facilitate knowledge sharing between individuals, project teams, and department units. In particular, I examine the factors influencing how organizations can make use of various mechanisms to share knowledge between individuals and groups. The mechanisms can be formal, such as the use of repositories and technology, or informal, such as through social network. I also examine how management of knowledge workers' expertise affects performance and innovation. In a separate stream of work, I examine how organizations effectively make use of enterprise architecture and external industry standards to coordinate between and within organizations.
