Vinod A Prasad received his B. Tech degree in instrumentation and control engineering from N.S.S.College of Engineering, Palakkad, University of Calicut, India in 1994 and the M. Engg and PhD degrees from School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2000 and 2004 respectively. He has spent the first 5 years (Nov. 1993 to Oct. 1998) of his career in industry as an automation engineer at Kirloskar, Bangalore, India, Tata Honeywell, Pune, India, and Shell Singapore. From September 2000 to September 2002, he was a lecturer in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore. He was a lecturer in the School of Computer Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, from September 2002 to November 2004, and since December 2004, he has been an assistant professor in NTU.

 

Vinod’s research interests include digital signal processing, low power and reconfigurable DSP circuits, software radio, cognitive radio and brain-computer interface. Currently, he has research grants from MOE, MINDEF, DSO National Labs and EADS Singapore amounting S$1 million as principle investigator. He has published about 90 papers in refereed journals and international conferences. Vinod is a senior member of IEEE.
