Library Standards and Automation Committee (1991-92)
Served as a Member of the Library Standards and Automation Committee constituted by the Prime Minister's (Pakistan) Committee for Policy and Analysis. The Committee recommended measures for the development of library standards, introduction and promotion of library automation, and use of electronic information sources in Pakistan.
University Grants Commission, Islamabad (Feb.- Apr 1991)
Worked with a panel of experts for developing a course structure for the Bachelors and Masters degree programmes in Library and Information Science for the seven library schools in Pakistan. The revised curriculum has been adopted and implemented by these library schools.
USAID Sponsored Library Strengthening Project
(1988-1992)
Conceptualized and implemented the USAID sponsored MART Library Strengthening Project for the 17 selected agricultural libraries in Pakistan. The project activities included: needs assessment, collection development, selection of appropriate hardware and software, budgeting, training, etc. Under this project, the participating libraries were provided latest hardware and electronic information sources to offer various information services to their scientists. A series of training courses for librarians as well as end-users were also conducted.
