KHONG, Andy W. H.

Andy Khong is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prior to that, he obtained his Ph.D. ('02-'05) from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London, after which he also served as a research associate ('05-'08) in the same department. He obtained his B.Eng. ('98-'02) in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His research interest includes adaptive filters, acoustic source localization, seismic signal processing and speech enhancement. He was the recipient of the best student paper award at the International Workshop on Acoustic Echo and Noise Control 2005.
   
   
GAN, Woon Seng
Associate Professor
Co-Principal Investigator: STATINA

GAN, Woon-Seng received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees, both in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK in 1989 and 1993 respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of EEE, NTU. His research interests include audio signal processing, psycho-acoustical signal processing and real-time digital signal processing. Woon-Seng is currently serving as a Deputy Director for the Centre for Signal Processing, NTU and an associate editor for EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech and Music Processing. He has published over 130 international journals and conferences and two books.

   
   

LI, Renshi
Project Officer: Infrasound Signal Processing

LI, Renshi received his B.Eng. degree (1st Class Hons.) in Circuit and Systems from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in June 2009. His research interests include Self-Organizing Maps (SOM), Neuron Cells, IC hardware design and signal processing.

   
   
LIAO, Lei
PhD. Candidate: STATINA

LIAO, Lei received his B.Eng. degree in Circuit and Systems from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2008. He is now pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the field of Information Engineering at NTU. His research interests include array signal processing, acoustic signal processing, blind system identification and blind source separation.
   
   
LIU, Benxu
PhD Candidate: STATINA

LIU, Benxu received his B.Eng. degree in Automation from the department of Control Science and Engineering and the M.Eng. degree majoring in Systems Engineering in 2006 and 2008 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He is now pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the field of Information Engineering, mainly about touch screen for next generation applications, in Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

   
   

LIU, Di
Research Associate: STATINA

LIU, Di received her Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from Beijing Normal University, China in 2007 and M.Sc. degree in Signal Processing from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2009. During Master study, she worked as Research Assistant in Temasek Lab@ NTU for half a year, in the area of image interpolation using Dual-tree Complex Wavelet Transform. Her research interests include de-noising, adaptive signal processing, image processing and computer vision.

   
   
NI, Chenyan
PhD. Candidate: Infrasound Signal Processing

NI, Chengyan received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT), China in 2007 and Master of Science in Computer Control and Automation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2008. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the field of Information Engineering at NTU. His research interests include infrasound signal processing and vehicle detection.

   
   
POLETKIN, Kirill
Research Fellow: STATINA

Kirill Poletkin received the diploma (Hons.) of electromechanical engineering majoring in “Aviation devices and measuring – computing complexes” in 2001 from Nizhny Novgorod State technical University and the Ph.D. degree from Moscow Aviation Institute (State Technical University), Russia in 2007. He is the author of 15 scientist works and one patent. He is currently involved in the identification of suitable sensors/transducers for next generation touch technologies as well as the study of acoustic wave propagation in solids.

   
   
RAJAN, Rashobh
Research Associate, Ph.D. Candidate: STATINA

Rashobh R.S was born in India, on April 24, 1980. He received the B.Eng, degree in Electronics and Communication engineering from Anna University, India and the M.S.c degree in Signal Processing from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2005 and 2008, respectively. Since January, 2009 he is a Research Associate at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and will pursue his part-time Ph.D. degree in August 2009. His research interest includes speech dereverberation and speech recognition.

   
   
REDDY, Vinod Veera
Ph.D. Candidate: Seismic Signal Processing

Reddy, Vinod Veera received his B.Eng. degree in Electronics and Communications from R.V College of Engineering affiliated to V.T.U, India in 2003. He was with Accord Software and Systems for 3.5 years working on the design and development of algorithms for automotive GPS receivers. He is now pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the field of Information Engineering at NTU. His research interests include speech source separation and array signal processing.

   
   
SULAIMAN, Amir
Project Officer, MSc Candidate: STATINA

Amir Sulaiman received the Diploma of Electronics, Computer and Communication Engineering majoring in Telecommunications in 2002 from Singapore Polytechnic and Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2005. He is currently pursuing his part-time M.Sc. degree within the School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include source localization using time-difference of arrival methods.
   
   
VENKATRAMAN, Divya
Research Associate, Ph.D. Candidate: Seismic Signal Processing

Divya Venkatraman received her Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication engineering from PSG College of Technology, India, in 2003. From 2003-2006 she worked for Infosys Technologies, India, on several Microsoft technologies including Microsoft .NET Framework and Microsoft BizTalk Server. She received her Master's degree in Signal Processing from the School of EEE in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2008. From 2008-2009 she continued to worked as a Research Associate in the School of EEE, in the area of compression of video signals from surveillance camera. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in the field of Information Engineering at NTU. Her research interest includes video compression, array signal processing and signal deconvolution.

   
   
WANG, Liang
Project Officer: STATINA

WANG, Liang was born in Xi’an, China in 1983. He received his B.Eng. degree in Information Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, China in 2003. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. degree in the field of digital signal processing in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From Jan 2009, he is a project officer in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. His current project involves in interactive loudspeaker array system. His research interests include loudspeaker array, active noise control, and audio signal processing. He has since published 7 international journal and conference papers.

   
   
YAP, Xuexin
Project Officer, M.Eng. Candidate: STATINA

Xuexin received a diploma in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, in 2002. In 2008, he graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is currently researching on the feasibility of Time Reversal Signal Processing in solids with “Speech, Touch and Acoustic Tangible Interfaces for Next-generation Applications” (STATINA) whilst pursuing a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research interests include the application of electronics in audio and musical equipment, psychoacoustic related fields, and selective focusing of signals.
