The Hartree Premium Award is an annual award that recognizes  the outstanding paper published in IEE Proceedings on Computers and Digital Techniques.  The IEE Premium Award applies to papers published in the IEE Proceedings or Journals between October one year and September next year.  The Hartree Premium Award has been recommended by the Knowledge Services Awards and Prizes Working Group and approved by Knowledge Services Board and confirmed by the Council of IEE.

The winning best paper is: B.J. Falkowski and S. Rahardja, "PLI Logic for Multiple-valued Logic Functions", IEE Proceedings, Computers and Digital Techniques, Vol. 148, No.1, Jan. 2001, pp. 7-14.

The formal presentation of the certificate will take place at IEE Headquarter, Savoy Place in London on 24 October 2002.
