IEM BBQ / Student-Meet-Mentor Session
IEM Year 2 Student, Tan Kai Hui

26th February marks our second BBQ cum Student-Meet-Mentor session. The IEM family took time off their busy schedules, and gathered at the Staff Recreational Centre (SRC) to interact with one another.
With our first batch of seniors graduating next year, this event poses great importance in cultivating future alumni bonding to the school.
Many students came earlier to help get things ready. Although the BBQ fire took a while to start, students enjoyed chatting and poking fun at each other.
This year, in conjunction with Chinese New Year, we had Lo Hei (or tossing of Yusheng) . Students had lots of fun tossing the Yusheng with their mentors. Together, we hoped for abundance and prosperity in the New Year. After Lo Hei, we gathered round the BBQ bit, eating and catching up with one another, while others got into groups and started playing games until it was late.
When the event had ended, many enthusiastic students insisted on staying back to barbeque and to mingle among themselves.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, having good food, socializing and most importantly, catching up with friends and mentors.
