| 2. ALLOCATION OF PROJECTS |
2.1. How are FYP projects allocated?
Each student can select up to 10 projects. FYP program allocates projects based on the order of preference from student’s 1st to 10th preferences. For more details, please refer to Student Guidelines in Section 1.3
2.2. When can I know the FYP project be allocated to me?
Project allocation takes about one week. A confirmation email will be sent to you once you are allocated project by the computer program.
3.1. What is expected of me in doing an FYP?
The general expectations of EEE FYP can be found in Student Guidelines.
3.2. Where can I find the schedule for my FYP?
A general FYP schedule is provided at the end of the Student Guidelines. For the specific schedule of each batch, please refer to the FYP website www.ntu.edu.sg/eee/fyp
3.3. Can I change project title or summary during the FYP period?
Yes, you can. Supervisor can do so on-line in the Stafflink but changes cannot be made after the FYP Committee has called for selection of projects for examination. After the supervisor has submitted the changes, the system will automatically send a notification email to supervisor and student of the affected project.
4.1. How do I know who is my examiner?
The examiner list will be released around week 11 of the 2nd semester in 5th year. Announcement will be posted on the EEE FYP website and you will be informed through email. You are reminded to check emails regularly
4.2. Can I submit the final report for examination in soft copy?
Yes, by default FYP final report should be submitted in softcopy (a pdf file) to the supervisor/examiner unless he/she prefers in hardcopy (double sided, ring bound) for which you will be informed at least 3 days in advance.
4.3. What is the procedure of submitting the final report after the oral presentation?
All students are required to submit a softcopy of the final reports to the NTU Library after the oral presentation. To enable students to revise the final report when required, it is important that supervisor and the examiner give comment/suggestion, if any, to students immediately after the oral presentation. If there is a change in the final report after the oral presentation, students have to revise the final report before submitting it to the Library. If requested, students have to submit a softcopy (a pdf file) or hardcopy (double sided, ring bound or hard-cover bound) of final/revised final report to the supervisor in his/her preference.
4.4. If my final report contains some confidential data/information, can I just submit an abstract to the library?
YES, please first discuss with your supervisor who will then email Ms May Yap for follow up action.
5.1. I have some other commitment on the scheduled date of the Oral Presentation, what should I do?
Oral presentation is COMPULSARY. If you have valid reasons or on official leave on the date of oral presentation, you must contact your supervisor and examiner well before the scheduled date. You should arrange the oral presentation earlier (NOT later) than the scheduled date. Once arrangement is agreed by all the affected parties, i.e., supervisor, examiner and student, you have to email A/Prof Ma Maode
(cc to Ms May Yap) for follow up action. This also applies to supervisor or examiner who will not be able to attend the oral presentation on the scheduled date, such as going overseas for official duties etc.
5.2. When will I know the schedule (date/time/venue) of the Oral Presentation?
You will know the schedule around around week 13 of 2nd semester in 5th year. FYP committee will post announcement on the FYP website(www.ntu.edu.sg/eee/fyp) and will email you, supervisor and examiner involved. Please check the FYP website and read your email regularly for any update.
