An initiative spearheaded by DSO National Laboratories (or DSO in short) in partnership with the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Electromagnetic Effects Research Laboratory (EMERL), is the first national-level test facility that caters to both military and commercial electromagnetic effects research and measurement.

It is supported by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). With its state-of-the-art facilities, EMERL will be pivotal in strengthening and spring-boarding national research capabilities in Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) – areas critical to the design of increasingly compact and  sensitive electronic systems, especially for today’s sophisticated military systems. The facility can also be extended to electronic systems for commercial markets. It can be used to qualify Singapore’s homegrown electronic systems to meet international standards in EMC.

EMERL is looking forward to collaborating with both local and overseas companies/research institutes for electromagnetic effects related research. Do visit our website regularly for our latest update of research activities.
