How to apply for the IDA’s National Infocomm Scholarship (NIS)? You can apply online via IDA’s web-site at http://infocommtalent.sg. The deadline for 2009 application is 31 March 2009. What is the job prospect after graduation from this programme? This programme is specially designed for students to achieve significant depth in Infocommunications education and a career in Infocomm industry. Infocomm-related occupations include IT services, telecommunications & network services, hardware design and manufacturing, software programmer/analyst/architect, hardware/software integrator, embedded system designer, consultancy and solution. The scholars are guaranteed of employment through their sponsoring companies. Any bond for the IDA’s National Infocomm Scholarship (NIS)? Yes, upon graduation, scholars are required to serve a four-year bond in their sponsoring company. Can I apply for this programme if I fail to get the IDA’s NIS scholarship? Yes, you can apply for this programme even though your NIS Scholarship application is not successful. What is the estimated cost of study in Georgia Tech for one year? This is not a "thru-train" programme. You will need to apply to Georgia Tech during/after your final year of BEng. What is the difference between the curriculum of the BEng (EEE) and those in the Integrated Programme? There is "no cutting corners" in the Integrated Programme. You need to complete the same number of AUs as the other BEng (EEE) students. Students in the BEng (EEE) usually complete in 4 years but those in the Integrated Programme are expected to complete the BEng in 3 to 3.5 years. |
