Biography

Dr. Mei received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in optical engineering from Zhejiang University in 1988 and 1991, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2000. He was a research staff for Zhejiang University, China, and the Institute of Microelectronics, Singapore, during 1991 ~ 1995 and 1997 ~ 2000, respectively. He joined the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University as an Assistant Professor in 2000 and has become Associate Professor since 2005. He is Senior Member (’06) of IEEE/LEOS.

Research Interest

Dr. Mei’s research has been in the area of semiconductor optoelectronics and novel optoelectronic devices, semiconductor microfabrication, and infrared imaging technologies including QWIP, QDIP and microbolometer. His current research interest focuses on photonic integrated circuits, intermixing of heterostructure, quantum well/quantum dot devices, and nanoscale semiconductor materials.
