Jan.2000- present: NTU, Assistant Professor
Oct.1996-Jan.2000: MEMS Dept. of Institute of Microelectronics (IME), Singapore - Senior Research Engineer.

Research Interest

Sensors & actuators; MEMS; (Bio)chemical sensors; bio-photonics; colour discriminators (e.g. using triple junction structures); optical detection for (Bio)chemical application in spectrometry, electrophoresis, chromatography, etc.

Selected Research Projects

  • “BioMEMS for Cell Characterization” ( Research and fabrication of silicon-based devices for electrical and optical characterization of cells ) 2002-2005, extended with 1 year until Aug.2006- 1.85 mil. S$ - A*STAR funded – Multidisciplinary project between NTU, NUS & NIE. Presently in the project are working 1 Ph.D. student (NUS), 1 RF (NIE), 2 P.O.s and 1 R.A. (NTU).

  • “ Biochemical Sensing Devices ” ( Research and fabrication of silicon-based microfabricated analytical devices for bio/ chemical purposes ) – AcRF project, Budget 174 k$, carried out between 2000…2003. Three Ph.D. students and 2 M.Sc. students were trained within this project.
