  • Dr Ang Lay Keehas been invited to the 47th Annual Meeting of the Division of Plasma Physics of American Physical Society (October 24–28, 2005, Denver, Colorado, USA) for an invited paper titled "Space-charge-limited flow in quantum regime".
  • Dr Sun Chang Qing visited Jilin University, China, in June-July 2005 and conducted a 20-hr course on "Physics and chemistry of nanostructures" and presented an invited talk on "Mechanical strength of atomic chains, surface skins, and nanograins".
  • Dr Zhou Xing and Mr Chiah Siau Ben presented at the Semiconductor Research Corp (SRC) annual review in Durham, NC, USA on 29 June 2005.
  • Dr Ang Lay Kee, Ricky visited Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in USA in June-July 2005 as a visiting research scientist.
  • Dr Zhou Xing presented his project at the Semiconductor Research Corp (SRC) annual review in Durham, NC, USA on 29 June 2004.
  • Dr Ang Lay Kee, Ricky visited Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in USA from 29 May 2004 for eight weeks as a visiting research scientist.

  • Dr Ralph Cavin, SRC, USA, visited Chartered on 27 Apr 2004 for SRC/CSM project review, "Technology-Based Predictive Compact Model Development for Next Generation CMOS," presented by Dr Zhou Xing (PI) and his team.
  • Prof Yanhe Li, Prof Zhiping Yu, and Prof Lilin Tian, Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University (IMETU), visited EEE/NTU on 4~6 Feb 2004.  Prof Zhiping Yu gave a talk on "Quantum Mechanical Carrier Transport and Nano-scale MOS Modeling" on 5 Feb.  An MOU between School of EEE at NTU and School of Information Science and Technology at Tsinghua was signed on 6 Feb.
  • Prof Asen Asenov, Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, University of Glasgow, visited EEE/NTU on 31 Oct 2003.
  • Prof Steve Chung (National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan), Prof Mitiko Miura-Mattausch (Hiroshima University, Japan), and Prof Mansun Chan (Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Hong Kong) visited NTU and gave invited talks at the 3rd WIMNACT-Singapore, co-hosted by CNEG, on 15 Oct 2003.
  • Dr Mahesh Patil, Chairman of the IEEE ED Bombay Chapter, from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay visited NTU on 16 July 2003 and gave a talk on "The Superjunction Power MOS Transistor" organized by the IEEE ED Singapore Chapter.

    Launch of the CNEI website
  • This Computational Nano-Electronics Initiative (CNEI) website was launched on 11 Oct 2002, as a window of publicity for the on-going research activities and directions of the Computational Nano-Electronics Group (CNEG) in the Microelectronics Division, EEE, NTU.  This group was originated in August 2002 with the initiation of Dr Ang Lay Kee and participation of the group members.
