Biography

Dr. Sheel Aditya received his B.Tech. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1974 and 1979, respectively. He was a staff member in the Electrical Engineering Department, IIT Delhi, from 1974-2001 and held academic positions ranging from lecturer to professor. Currently he is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Aditya has published more than 40 papers in international journals, has presented more than 50 papers in international conferences, has contributed one encyclopaedia article, and has co-edited one international conference proceedings. He has been involved in a number of research & development projects and jointly holds three patents in India. He has held visiting assignments at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, Florida State University, USA, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Aditya is a Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of IETE ( India).

  • Principal Investigator, Integrated optics power-splitter/combiner, Rs. 6,200K, 1995-1998, funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), India.
  • Investigator (acting PI for 6 months), Microwave and millimetre-wave MEMS for automatic identification and tracking, S$ 1,800K, 2000-2003, funded by NSTB (A*STAR – Agency for Science Technology & Research), Singapore).
  • Co- Principal Investigator, Fiber-to-the-premise for broadband delivery, S$ 521K, April 2005 – April 2007, funded by A*STAR, Singapore.
