Biography

Dr Cai Wenjian received his BEng, Meng, and PhD from Department of Precision Instrumentation Engineering, Department of Control Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, P. R. China, and Department of Electrical Engineering, Oakland University, U.S.A., in 1980, 1983 and 1992, receptively. After graduation, he worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Robotics, Oakland University, U. S. A.; Senior Engineer at CEC Controls Company, U. S. A.; Research Scientist at National University of Singapore; Principal Engineer and R&D Manager at Supersymmetry Services Pte Ltd; Senior Research Fellow at Environmental Technology Institute, respectively. He has more than twenty years of industry and research experience in the areas of process control, environmental and energy conservation technologies, participated in many industry related research projects, published more that eighty technical papers with two patents.

Research Interest

Dynamic system modelling, control and optimization; Plantwide control and optimization for HVAC and waste treatment systems; Intelligent sensor technology; Fuzzy systems; Multi-model and Adaptive control.
