The ICIS Practicum Lab is composed of 2 terminal rooms, a demo room, a general lab. area and the ICIS computer center. The two terminal rooms are used as teaching labs where students have their hands-on sessions on subjects such as object-oriented programming, network programming, web application design and network design. These rooms are equipped with multimedia equipment to facilitate our teaching. External course may also be conducted here. The two rooms can be joined as a bigger room to cater for large classes for up to 64 students. In the general lab. area, besides a number of shared PCs and printers, we have 12 SUN workstations available to support students' hands-on sessions on kernel programming and research projects, and a number of PCs available for MSc students and undergraduate students for their research work and final year projects.

In the demo room, selected projects done by students are displayed for viewing by our visitors and guests. It also houses all the specialize equipment such as Silicon Graphics workstation, Intergraph System, etc. which are used for the development of the distributed Virtual Reality system. ICIS also has her own computer center to support research work and teaching within the division. Presently, we have one SunFire Server for computation intensive jobs such as network performance analysis and simulation studies, one Windows 2000 file servers, one Linux server and a video server. These servers are for exclusive used by our MSc, research and undergraduate students, as well as the staff of ICIS.
