Biography

Gwee Bah Hwee received his BEng (Hons) degree from the University of Aberdeen, UK, in 1990. He received his MEng and PhD degrees from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 1992 and 1998 respectively. Dr Gwee has both industrial and academic research experiences. In industry, he worked as a research engineer at SEIKO Instruments. In academia, he worked as a Lecturer in Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore. He was an Assistant Professor in School of EEE, NTU from 1999 to 2005 and has been an Associate Professor in NTU since 2005. He is the Principal Investigator of several local and international grants, including the AcRF Tier-2, ASEAN-EU University Network Programme (AUNP) grant, Defence Science Organization and Co- Principal Investigator of DARPA (USA), NTU-Panasonic Semiconductors, NTU-Linköping University (Sweden) joint research collaboration and projects. He has filed several patents in circuit designs and has 1 US patent granted.
Dr Gwee was the Chairman for IEEE Singapore – Circuits and Systems Chapter in 2005 and 2006. He was the Technical Programme Chair for International Symposium for Integrated Circuits, 2007. He is the Committee Member of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society DSP, VLSI Systems and Biomedical Circuits and Systems and Life-Science Systems and Applications Technical Committees. He has been serving as an Associate Editor for the journal of Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing since 2007. He has been an IEEE Senior Member since 2003. He is currently an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer ( 2009/2010) for IEEE Circuits and Systems Society.
