| Overview
The research activities in CICS are focused mainly on the design, analysis and integration of electronic circuits and systems in general, but on the design of ultra low-power system-on-chip (SoC) in particular. The ultimate aim of this research is to create a new generation of green electronic circuits and systems with extremely low power consumption that the recharging or replacement of the battery is much less frequent and in some applications, cordlessly-powered devices become possible.
CICS has 3 research groups, namely, RF Integrated Circuits & Systems; Analog and Mixed-Signal IC
and VLSI Design. Its research man power includes 18 academic staff, 10 full-time research fellows and associates, and about 90 PhD students. The Centre is well equipped with state of the art EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools, high performance computing equipment, and measuring equipment. CICS’s strong research activities in IC Design are recognized internationally. Many staff members have been serving in editorial boards of leading journals. Its expertise in integrated circuits and systems is well demanded by the industry in the form of consultancy and industrial collaboration. |
