Project
Project Laboratory is primarily used for second-year undergraduates to carry out their electronics experiments. It also supports second year undergraduate design & innovation projects (DIP) and final year projects activities. Apart from basic electronic laboratory equipment like d.c. power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters etc, the laboratory is also equipped with a number of precision audio measurement systems for audio amplifier testing and analysis.
The Laboratory supports three experiments for second year laboratory:
1) EE2071 Lab 2A L213 – Diode Rectifier Circuits:
The objectives of this experiment are to observe:
- The rectifier diode i-v characteristics;
- Voltage transfer characteristic and waveform displays of half-wave and full wave rectifier circuits with resistive load;
- The use of capacitors as filters to provide smoother d.c. voltage waveforms;
- The effects of load and capacitance on the rectified voltage waveforms;
- The use of the diode in clipper circuits.
2) EE2072 Lab 2B L224 – Arithmetic & Sequential Circuits:
The objectives of this experiment are to study:
- The methods of designing circuits which perform arithmetic operations;
- The operation of asynchronous and synchronous circuits
3) EE2072 Lab 2B L225 – Counter And Shift Register:
The objectives of this experiment are to build and analyse:
- Simple register circuit such as the parallel in - serial out shift register;
- Counter circuit such as the ring counter (asynchronous counter)
