IC Design II
The laboratory supports both teaching and research activities in the area of Analog/Digital/Mix-signal IC Design and RFIC Design using electronics design automation tools from various software vendors namely: Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, Agilent and Ansoft. The computing resources of 11 sets of Sun Solaris Workstations and 25 sets of PCs bootable in either Window XP or Linux Redhat 8.0 or Linux Redhat EL 3.0 operating system provide both staff and students with great flexibility to access the server based design packages and Window based office applications. There are also equipment available for project testing as well as testing of IC chip fabricated from different foundries. In addition, it houses a High Frequency Characterization Room that equipped with an Cascade 8” Probe System and an Integrated Characterization and Analysis System. This is to facilitate on-wafer S parameter RF device characterization from 50MHz to 50GHz, high frequency noise measurement from 0.3GHz to 26.5Ghz and flicker noise measurement till 100KHz. IC Design II houses six postgraduates.
