IC Design I
This laboratory supports the teaching and research activities in the area of IC design. The computing resources it offers include Sun workstations and computers. Beside workstation resources, the laboratory has 25 PCs operating on multi boot OS (Window XP with Linux Redhat 8.0 for MGC and Linux Redhat 8.0 for CDS) are loaded with Linux based Cadence, Mentor Graphic and Paragon Zeni, plus Window based Office applications to supplement the design resources based on workstations. The laboratory also has 6 high end PCs operating with Linux Enterprise 3 for Agilent software. The availability of these software packages offers both the staff and students a wide range of choice and opportunities to expedite their work. It also serves to facilitate design and layout of analog/digital and mixed mode circuits as well as the implementation of digital design on FPGA. IC Design I is equipped to house 9 postgraduate staff.
