Electronics Lab III
The laboratory is primarily used to conduct OrCAD EDA software experiments for 2nd and 3rd Year undergraduate students. It also supports design & innovation project (DIP). The laboratory equipment include computers with License OrCad software (for Capture, PSpice and Layout components) and other instruments such as oscilloscopes, function generators and digital multi-meters.
The Laboratory supports experiments for second and third year laboratory:
1) EE2071 Lab 2A L216 – PCB Layout Design:
The objective of this experiment is to familiarize with a PC-based CAD/CAM/CAE tool for PCB layout design.
The exercise include:
- Board generation;
- Interactive component placement and auto-placement;
- Interactive routing of critical paths and auto-routing;
- Generation of Gerber files for PCB manufacture.
2) EE3071 Lab 3 L312 – Analog Circuit Design:
The objective of this experiment is to familiarize with a PC-based EDA (e.g. OrCAD) tools for the purpose of schematic capture and circuit simulation.
The exercise include:
- Invoke the schematic page editor for schematic capture;
- Prepare the schematics for circuit simulation;
- Perform basic analyses such as DC, AC and transient analysis on analog circuits.
