NTUimessenger IM Client Downloads and Installation Tips

  1. First determine your machine's Windows platform and click on the icon to download the appropriate IM client and/or supporting Windows update patches (if required)

  2. Next select "Run this Program from its Current Location" to perform the installation immediately (click OK and setup will begin). Alternatively you can also select "Save this Program to Disk" to copy the download to your machine for installation at a later time

  3. Microsoft 98 or earlier and Windows NT (SP6a) machines must the above Directory Services Client installed before they can search their contacts by first name or last name (tell me more). For users on Windows 95, the Winsock 2.0 Update is also required

  4. Computers that are running Windows 95 or Windows 98 may be prompted for logon credentials multiple times or the user may automatically be logged off from the Instant Messaging Service. To resolve this problem, implement the updated version of the system dynamic-link library (DLL), Secur32.dll above
