A guide on how to install Windows 2000 VPN-Client
To create a dial-up connection
Click Start-> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> Network and Dial-up Connections

Click the Make New Connection icon to launch the Network Connection Wizard. |

Click the Next button. |
|
|
Select the 'Connect to a private network through the Internet' tab and click the Next button. |

|
Select the 'Do not dial the initial
connection' tab and click the Next |
|
|
Enter the VPN remote server: vpngate.ntu.edu.sg
|
|
|
Select the 'For all users' tab and click the Next button. |
|
|
Do not select 'Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this connection' tab.
Just click Next button.

|
Enter any name in the box. For example: NTURAS VPN. Click the Finish button.

The setup is completed and you may launch the tunneling to NTU Campus network by entering your userid, password and domain name (student or staff). Use the format student\userid or staff\userid to logon to the Campus network.
Please note that you must be connected to the Internet before you can perform the tunneling.

For example, if your userid is MHTan in Student domain, you have to enter student\MHTan as the username.
|
Before you make any VPN connection, please disable any
firewall or 'Internet Connection Sharing' that is running at the background of
your computer system.
You will also need to configure your Internet Explorer proxy setting if needed.
