Innovating for Results (SFC) 

Introduction

Turning ideas into new and better products is important for every organization. As a strategic, customer-driven workforce, innovation has the potential to not only make an organization a forerunner but to set it apart. An innovation of value to the customer, something that will enhance someone’s life, will make an indelible impression and help an organization gain recognition and distinction. For some, becoming innovative means focusing on incremental improvements to stay ahead. For others, it means going for the necessary breakthrough to prevent extinction. More and more organizations are balancing their efforts and striving for both. 

Objectives

Designed for a broad range of individuals viz. managers, executives, team leaders, specialists, this program inspires and creates in participants the ability to turn ideas into new and better products and services, integrating their personal efforts into their organizational processes. Recognizing that innovation is a top priority and if managed and synchronized into a system as a collaborative process, the likelihood of success is far greater. When innovation becomes part of an organizations culture, it takes on even greater potential for organizational effectiveness in terms of;

• Generating ideas for more creative solutions that reduce costs, increase productivity, boost morale and improve profit margin
• Preventing potential problems from developing and setting a platform that supports business goals

1. How to inspire and create Innovation within and at the workplace
2. Understanding your Innovation Quotient (INNO-Q) and adopting the 7 Techniques of Partnership in Innovation
3. Technique of Reframing for an Innovative Mindset
4. Tools for Applied Creativity, Innovation and Change
5. From workshop to workplace : Innovation in Action

Upon completion, you will:
- Know the process of making innovation a top priority in yourselves and for your organization
- Be a able to use a number of techniques to develop a creative culture and promote idea mobility to improve business activities
- Learn and acquire skills to look for opportunities for innovation within yourself and your organization that set ideas in motion
- Be inspired towards a change in mindset to work more creatively as individuals and participate effectively in work groups and on project teams  

Trainer(s)

Dr Oh, Alvin

Dr Alvin Oh holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Hull, Institute for Learning UK. He has also a Masters degree in Training and have designed and developed many Management Development Programs and Human Resource Development Programs over the last 18 years working with organizations. In his area of consultancy, Alvin specializes in Organizational Effectiveness and has customized many in-house programs in Human Resource / Organizational Development solutions. An experienced practitioner as corporate trainer, conference speaker and in-company HRD consultant for over 15 years with international business consulting firms, in banking and finance, public transport and the manufacturing industries, Alvin also writes courses and teaches for the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM University) and was a Course Chair (Adj) for their business degree courses in “Management & Organizations”. He has also taught subjects such as Economics, Organizational Behavior / Organizational Development, Learning & Development for NTU and other institutions of higher learning.

Replacement Policy

Given a 3 days notice before course commencement, companies may replace participants who have signed up for the course. Terms and conditions apply.

 

There is no replacement for participant utilising SkillsFuture Credit. Participant to cancel their SkillsFuture Credit claim with WDA.

• Course is subject to a minimum participation before commencement
• Course is subject to a first-come-first-serve basis in light of overwhelming responses
• NTU-CCE reserves the right to change or cancel any course or trainer, in light of unforeseen circumstances

Privacy Clauses

At NTU-CCE, participants’ personal information is collected, used and disclosed for the following purposes:
  1. To process your application.
  2. For course administration and billing.
  3. To enable the trainers to know the background of the course participants.
  4. To submit to governmental authorities for funding verification, administration and survey conducted by them (only applicable to funded courses).
  5. To submit to NTU Alumni Affairs Office, NTUC and other relevant organisations for course discount verification (if applicable).
  6. To issue certificate to the course participants.
  7. For marketing of courses to participants via E-newsletter.
  8. To understand and study the profile of its course participants for NTU’s policy making and planning.
  9. To deal with any matter related to the course.
