WSQ Establish Lean Six Sigma Methodology [Qualified for 16 PDUs] 


Lean Six Sigma methodology is used in many industries in its drive for enhancing innovation and productivity. This programme gives participants a comprehensive understanding of how Lean Six Sigma works to generate the benefits it offers. Participants receive an overview of the key principles, strategies and tools used in Lean Six Sigma initiative and how this methodology can get and keep your organization on the road to success.

This session will also feature a process simulation activity – Dot simulation that will give participants a first-hand look at how DMAIC tools are applied

The Lean Six Sigma course focuses on process improvement through waste elimination and variation reduction. It is applied on processes that are inefficient and ineffective. The application of tools are not restricted to manufacturing or engineering processes, it could also be applied to transactional process in Human Resources, Finance or Customer Services.

The course will enable participants to improve process efficiency and effectiveness for productivity and innovation gain. 


1.To develop a foundational understanding of the Lean Six Sigma initiative and its core concepts and tools
2.To learn to apply the Lean Six Sigma model: Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) to improve productivity using a simulated case example

WDA Certification
Upon completion and passing of all required assessments, participants will receive a formal recognition through the award of a Statement of Attainment (SOA)^ from the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).
^The SOA is a nationally-recognized qualification by WDA indicating the participant’s ability of competence in a particular area to perform a task appropriate to her/his occupational level and work demands.

Mr Yoong, Fook Loy

Yoong Fook Loy has over 15 years of in-depth training and hands-on deployment in Socio-technical system of Organization Design and Development.

While in employment, Fook Loy held various positions in Operation, Human Resources Development and Six Sigma. He was the Corporate Leadership Program Manger for Asia with GE Corporate, overseeing talent development in numerous GE Leadership Programs before establishing his training and consulting business – The Centre for Performance Transformation.

Fook Loy currently also provides training and consulting services to companies such as Bank Negera Indonesia, IE Singapore, JTC, Cisco Systems, EDB Singapore, Microsoft, OCBC Bank, Sun Micro-system, and others.

Fook Loy graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He is a Master Black Belt and a Master Trainer and Consultant for High Performance Work Organization.

Criteria for WSQ Funding and Certification
Fee with WSQ funding: $515.21 (inclusive of GST)*conditions apply
To be eligible, participants:
- must be Singaporeans or Permanent Residents of Singapore
- may be employer-sponsored, self-sponsored or unemployed
- achieve 75% attendance
- pass all required assessments, or face a re-test within 2 weeks after the last day of the course.
- eligibility acceptance subject to final approval by WDA before course commencement
*Participants who do not fulfill the above criteria are not eligible for WSQ funding and certification, and are required to pay the course fee in full.

Replacement Policy

Given a 3 days notice before course commencement, companies may replace participants who have signed up for the course. Terms and conditions apply.


There is no replacement for participant utilising SkillsFuture Credit. Participant to cancel their SkillsFuture Credit claim with WDA.
