The National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy aims to encourage and support seniors in lifelong learning by broadening the learning options and breaking down barriers to provide affordable learning. Courses supported by NSA are in areas which are more life-skills-oriented.

Assertive does not equate to Aggressive or Arrogant. These are all 3 different states. Assertiveness lies between passivity and aggression. Being assertive is standing up for your own personal rights and expressing your beliefs without violating others' rights. Assertive people influence others in positive ways, are non-judgmental and adopt a proactive rather than a reactive approach.

In this Assertiveness Training Course, you will learn the various building blocks from enhancing your self esteem, listening skills to learning to say "No". From either a passive or aggressive person, you can develop to a more assertive person. This will increase your confidence and effectiveness in handling conflicts and constructive dialogue with others. 
10. Warrior or Worrier? Conflict Resolution and Stress Management Strategies

With multi-tasking, limited resources and tight deadlines at the workplace, chances of conflict are ever increasing. What more, executives are taught to be more assertive and many have strong perceptions towards certain issues. With more technologies and less personal communication, chances of stepping into conflict minefields are even higher. Executives have different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Therefore their approach to work and resolving issues are different, giving rise to conflict. As with problems, there are always solutions. Conflicts can be resolved if executives learn and are willing to make it work. Response to conflict involves selecting the most appropriate strategy to resolve it.

Conflicts result in many stressful and angry people. The cost of stress and the hours lost in productivity are getting higher and higher every year. Stress, however, in small doses, is refreshing. - Must be a Singaporean
- Must be age 50 and above during the year of course date (Year of birth 1966 and ealier)
- Must not have attended more than 3 NSA supported courses by NTU
- Subsidy placement is on a first-come-first served basis
