南洋理工大学是新加坡一所科研密集型大学,以卓越的学术和科研成果,跻身全球百强顶尖大学之列。南大目前有33500余名在校学生,教职员工有5500余名,来自全球70多个国家。南大在新加坡设有两个校区。主校区是座落在新加坡西南部的南大云南园校区,为学生提供丰富多彩的住校生活,也是2010年首届青年奥运会的指定选手村。 文、理、工、商四大学院为本科生和研究生提供全方位的跨学科教育,培养学生的创新精神和国际视野,让他们在人文和科技方面都有相当的造诣,具备竞争优势,在全球市场上有更大的发展空间。南大也将与伦敦帝国大学合作,联办李光前医学院并将在2013年录取第一批学生。 |

此外,南大另设四所世界级的自主机构,包括国防策略研究国际权威机构——拉惹勒南国际研究院、新加坡唯一的专业师资培训学府——国立教育学院、集中研究地球科学自然灾害课题的新加坡地球观测与研究所,以及研究重点放在生物膜的环境生物工程中心。
作为新加坡主要的科技大学,南大在生物医学、环境与水源技术,以及互动与数码媒体科学等领域建立了强大的优势。在国立研究基金会的带动下,南大对推动新加坡在科研和创新科技领域的发展做出了杰出的贡献。南大设有许多顶尖的研究中心,包括南洋环境与水源研究院和南大能源研究所。

南大还不断加强大学的多元文化特色,根植亚洲,面向世界,扩大与中国、印度、美国、欧洲等国的国际合作,积极推动教育与科研项目,以吸引更多优秀学者与科研专才,让南大学生有更多机会参与研究,并从海外浸濡的体验中开拓国际视野。
新加坡具备中西合璧的政经文化优势,南大除了与西方著名学府合作关系密切,还聚集了精通双语、熟悉中国并了解世界发展的师资力量,这是南大在多元文化教学资源方面的优势。南大目前共有六项面向中国以中文授课的硕士课程,一方面为中国培养政府、企业、教育和创新人才,另一方面也为新加坡与中国搭起永久的友谊桥梁。在中、短期培训方面,南大已为中国各级政府、企业界培训了数千名政府官员和企业家。此外,在北京中关村及上海张江高科技园区设立的南大办公室,也进一步加强了南大与中国学府的合作交流,为学生和校友带来了更多教育和创业机会。
除了主要的云南园校园,南洋理工大学也在新加坡科学与科技中心设立了一个卫星校园,为学生和校友提供更多的学习资源与娱乐空间,并将在位于诺维娜的新加坡医疗区设立第三个校园。

Nanyang Technological University
One of the fastest-growing research universities in the world, NTU is ranked among the world’s top 100 universities and has been cited as a model for science and technology education. NTU’s Yunnan Garden campus was the site of the Youth Olympic Village during the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in August 2010 while the NTU@one-north campus is home to a graduate school and alumni clubhouse facilities. NTU has four colleges. The Nanyang Business School (the College of Business), is placed among the top 30 in the world in the Financial Times’ global MBA programme rankings. The College of Engineering, with six schools focused on technology and innovation, has a research output among the top four in the world. The College of Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences is home to the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information; a fast-growing humanities and social sciences school; and Singapore's first professional art school offering degree courses in art, design and interactive digital media. The College of Science, with award-winning faculty and world class laboratories, runs Singapore’s only direct honours bachelor's degree programmes in the biological, physical and mathematical sciences. In 2013, NTU will enrol the first batch of students at its new medical school, the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, which is set up jointly with Imperial College London.
NTU also has four autonomous institutes: The S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, a world authority on strategic studies and security research, the National Institute of Education, Singapore’s only teacher-training institute, the Earth Observatory of Singapore, a national research centre of excellence dedicated to hazards-related earth science and Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering as well as various leading research centres such as the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI) and Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N).

As a multicultural research university, NTU plays a leading role in the concerted effort to foster relationships with the emerging governing and business elite from China to enhance the economic prospects for Singapore. From initial short-term management training for provincial officials, the university now conducts six Master’s programmes in Mandarin for government officials, businessmen, educators and entrepreneurs from China.
Besides the main Yunnan Garden campus, NTU also has a satellite campus in Singapore’s science and tech hub, one-north, and is setting up a third campus in Novena, Singapore’s medical district.
