Held along
with the International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR’06):
http://www.comp.hkbu.edu.hk/~icpr06/
Scope
of Workshop
The goal of the workshop is to present recent research results, including
significant work-in-progress in the areas of pattern recognition applied
to bioinformatics.
It will bring together top researchers, practitioners, and students
from around the world to discuss the applications of pattern recognition
methods in the field of bioinformatics to solve problems in life sciences.
Topics of applications include but are not limited to: sequence analysis,
gene and protein expression data analysis, structure prediction and
folding, protein docking and drug design, metabolic pathway analysis,
medical imaging and a variety of other topics.
Pattern recognition techniques of interests include: statistical, syntactic,
and structural approaches, neural networks, fuzzy techniques, genetic
algorithms, graphical models, data mining techniques and their hybrids.
The
proceedings of the conference will be published by Springer as a volume
in the Lecture
Notes in Bioinformatics series.
