Java Masters Competition
(extracted from http://www.javamasters.org/)

Over 2000 students world-wide participated in the first Java Masters Contest organized by the Java Masters Organization Team (Siemens mobile, smac and Sun Microsystems). The contest gave opportunity to create an original Java application for Siemens S55, C55 and M50 mobile phones and win amazing prizes. After the top ten applications where selected by the organisers, more than 10.000 end users joined the online voting at www. Javamasters.org to determine the Java Masters winners.

We proudly announce the winners of the Java Masters Competition:

1st award:     Invitation to JavaOne to San Francisco, California and "have a beer with a Java guru"
An exclusive SL55 slider phone from Siemens

Winner: Eugene Yatsenko from Ukraine for his race game "Blazers" and the best Business Plan

Blazers is an action game, where you need to control a creature that runs down the "space road." The game turns out to be a great "time killer" for people, who can play it virtually anywhere.

2nd award:   Sun Blade 150
An exclusive SL55 slider phone from Siemens

Winner: Jozef Bernal from Poland for his race game "Wicked Race".

The Award Ceremony took place, Monday June 30th in the lounge Nektar in Munich and was attended by 60 invitees including Siemens, smac and Sun Microsystems executives and around 20 journalists from the Java specialist press.
