Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Candidates enrolled for a postgraduate programme by research pursue an independent but supervised research in an approved topic based on which a thesis must be submitted for examination. The award of the research degree is based solely on the thesis submitted. Candidates are also required to fulfill coursework requirement of a minimum of six courses. The minimum period of candidature for a Ph.D. degree is two years while the maximum is five years.

The general entry qualifications for admission to the Ph.D. programmes are:
  a good bachelor’s degree in areas related to chemical and biomedical engineering    and
  good GRE/GATE (for Indian applicants) and TOEFL scores. In countries where    GRE/GATE and TOEFL are unavailable, representatives from the School may travel    to these countries to conduct Technical Proficiency Tests and interviews with    potential candidates.


The University offers attractive research scholarships to candidates with outstanding academic results pursuing full-time doctoral program. The scholarship covers the research fees and other university-related fees and includes a monthly stipend.
