1. International Students Unit (ISU) assists the following groups of foreign students in immigration matters related to the application and extension of Student's Pass. - Full-time graduate students |

| Medical
Examination
1. With effect from 1 Mar 2000, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requires foreigners on Student's Pass who stay in Singapore for 6 months or more to undergo a medical examination, which includes a chest x-ray for tuberculosis and a test for the AIDS-causing Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The medical test can be done either in Singapore or overseas using the official medical examination form provided by ICA. 2. The medical report should not be issued more than 3 months ago at the time of submission to ICA. If a medical report was submitted to ICA or Ministry of Manpower not more than 2 years ago, there is no need to re-submit a fresh medical report. Students from visa required countries 1. Foreign students holding travel documents from the following list of countries will require a Social Visit Visa prior to entry into Singapore.
2. ISU assists students form the above list of countries to apply for an In-Principle Approval Letter for Social Visit Visa and Student's Pass from ICA. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for ICA to process the application. 3. Students have to fill up Form 16 on-line by clicking on the Student's Pass Application and Registration (SOLAR) link from the ICA website using the login information provided by the university. The In-Principle Approval Letter for Social Visit Visa and Student's Pass will be sent to the students prior to their departure for Singapore. Students are to produce this letter at the Immigration checkpoint upon entry into Singapore. 4. After arrival in Singapore, students have to bring along the following documents to ICA to apply for the Student's Pass before the Social Visit Visa expires.
Students from non-visa required countries 1. Students from countries where there is no need to obtain a visa prior to entry into Singapore would normally be issued a Social Visit Pass for 2 weeks upon entry into Singapore. Students must apply for a Student's Pass at the ICA before the Social Visit Pass expires. 2. Upon arrival in Singapore, students have to fill up Form 16 on-line by clicking on the Student's Pass Application and Registration (SOLAR) link from the ICA website using the login information provided by the university. 3. | Application of Social Visit Pass for Student's Spouse | |||
|
1. ISU assists in the application of Social Vist Pass for the spouses of international graduate students. The period of sponsorship is limited to the minimum candidature of the graduate students. 2. Graduate student's spouse from visa required countries is required to fill up the following 3 forms:
3. Student is required to come to ISU with a witness to sign a letter of undertaking. The following documents are required:
4. Student is required to bring the following documents to ICA to apply for the Social Visit Pass for the spouse:
5. Student will be informed by ISU once the In-Principal Approval Letter from ICA is ready for collection. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for ICA to process the application. 6. Student should then produce the In-Principal Approval Letter at ICA to collect the visa card. The visa card should then be sent to the spouse for entry to Singapore. | |||

| Cancellation of IPA Letter/Student's Pass | |||

| 2. International graduate students are required to surrender their Student's Pass to ICA within 7 days from the date that the degree was conferred in writing or the date of withdrawal of course/termination of study. | |||
