THE TEACHER AIDE PROGRAMME
The Teacher Aide Programme is a programme that provides opportunities for postgraduate and undergraduate students to assist teachers in schools to enthuse students in science and contribute to enriching the science research environment in schools.
Teacher Aides are involved at the secondary schools/junior colleges or the Zonal Science and Technology Centres in activities such as mentoring students in science research projects, conducting laboratory demonstrations, designing experimental kits and organising science enrichment activities. The extent and scope of involvement are flexible and can be arranged between the successful applicant and the school of attachment.
The programme is open preferably to postgraduate students or undergraduate students beyond their first year of study at the university. Teacher Aides can work on a part-time basis and will be paid an hourly-rated honorarium.
The programme is jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). It is fully sponsored by A*STAR.
