Public Seminar by Mr. Joseph Hui on Singapore's Environment Policy, Administration & Enforcement (15 September 2008)
Excellence in Environmental Science & Engineering

The Singapore Stanford Partnership (SSP) is a joint effort between NTU’s School of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Stanford’s Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering to establish a Singapore-based premier graduate education and research programme in Environmental Science & Engineering.

Environmental engineering serves an increasingly crucial role as the Asia Pacific region continues to advance and develop while striving to maintain the quality of life associated with clean air, water and land, and sustainability of natural resources. The SSP programme plays a leading role in addressing these issues.

Under the partnership, excellence in education and research in the environmental area as well as interactions between academia, industry and government agencies are developed and sustained.

Joint Academic Programme

The SSP offers the NTU Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Environmental Science & Engineering.

The MS programme requires one year with the first quarter in residence at Stanford. It aims to produce high calibre environmental engineers equipped with both fundamental understanding and practical skills. Students will take courses taught jointly by NTU and Stanford faculty. While at NTU, students will also take regular Stanford courses taught by visiting Stanford faculty or by through the use of on-line, interactive transmission of lectures.

The PhD degree requires approximately four years of study beyond the Masters level with three quarters of residence at Stanford. It will prepare students for careers in academia or advanced research and development.

Pre-Application Interview Request form

Periodically, our faculty representatives would visit various Asian countries and conduct student recruitment activities. If you are considering to apply for the master's or PhD programme, but do not have all the supporting documents yet, please download a copy of this form and fax/email the completed form to the SSP Office with your latest transcripts.

We shall then arrange, whenever it coincides with their vissit schedule, an interview appointment, or keep you informed of any forthcoming recruitment meetings in your country.
