Site Visit

All participants are invited to join us on a Technical Site Visit to one of the Land Transport Authorty's Circle Line stations and experience first-hand, the technology and theory put into application.

    Circle Line Stage 4

The Circle Line (CCL) aims to cut the travelling time and allow commuters to bypass busy interchanges such as City Hall and Raffles Place. It is set to fully complete in 2010,

Costing $6.7 billion, the CCL will be a fully underground orbital line linking all radial lines leading to the city. CCL is a 33 km orbital line that will link all radial rapid transit system (RTS) lines running into the city. It will have 29 stations, including interchange stations with the North South, East West and North East lines. An underground, fully automated system, it will be built in five stages. Starting from the Dhoby Ghaut station, it will run through some of the busiest corridors in the city and end at HarbourFront station on the North East Line.

There are 5 stages for this project, of which the Land Transport Authority has given approval for our Conference Delegates to visit stage 4 of the Circle Line. CCL 4 consists of 4 stations, which includes Thomson Station, Bukit Brown Station, Botanic Gardens and Farrer Road Stations. It has one Facility Building of the RTS. This project uses two 6.3km Connecting Bored Tunnels.

CCL 4 is currently working on TBM transit and re-launching towards Marymount Station underway. In addition, construction of the Station External and Internal Walls to Concourse Level is in progress. It is targeted to complete RC structure for Thomson Shell Station in April 2008.

Registration for the site visit is on first-come-first-served basis. Delegates who are interested, please email to iccpm_iccem@cma.sg.
